Was Roger Federer Dissing Andy Roddick?

August 14, 2009

A few years ago, there was a commercial campaign with Andy Roddick where he was struggling to fly with his trophy after winning a major competition.

This year, right after Roger Federer beat Andy Roddick at Wimbledon to capture his 14th Grand Slam title this commercial for NetJets aired right afterwards…

Watch these and tell me what you think.  Just a weird coincidence or a subtle diss?

  1. No he wasn’t dissing him, that netjets advert came out after federer won his 14th grand slam at the french open, he won his 15th at wimbledon.

  2. I’ve got a question for you, Tim. When you won your silver medal, and came back to America, did you pack it to go under the plane, or did you wear it onboard?

  3. Never check the medal underneath the plane! If you lose it, you can’t get it replaced!

I was definitely very cheesy and wore it when I got off the plane!

  4. Also, to SJ’s comments…I think it was a coincidence that Andy Roddick was playing Federer in the finals and this aired, but the two commmercials just seem so similar…

  5. Yeah, that wasn’t Fed dissing Roddick, they have a lot of respect for each other so I don’t think either of them would diss one another through a TV commercial.
