The TechnoGym Flexibility Machines are Awesome!

December 25, 2009

This gym near my apartment has these great assisted stretching machines.

They let you know how far you’re going so you can measure yourself and the progress you’re making.

I wish more gyms had these!

Charity Showdown – Aerial Skier Emily Cook Takes on 60 athletes in a Race to Give on Behalf of Right To Play Jordan

December 19, 2009

US Aerial Skier Emily Cook Takes Flight

US Aerial Skier Emily Cook Takes Flight

In addition to setting her sights on her first Olympic Gold Medal in at the Vancouver Olympic Games, my dear friend Emily Cook (2006 Olympian in Aerial Skiing) is facing off against 60 athletes who are competing to raise money for their favorite charities. Click this hyperlink to DONATE.

Emily is longtime athlete ambassador of Right To Play and traveled to Jordan in April (Jason Rogers was also on that trip) to visit and participate in local programs.

Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world.

Who Gives? Racing for a Cause” is underwritten by Athletes For Hope (whose foundering members include sports legends such as, Lance Armstrong, Andre Agassi Tony Hawk and Muhammad Ali). Emily has chosen to raise fund specifically for the Jordanian division of Right To Play which was founded in 2006.

The participating athletes have until January 15 to raise as many funds from as many unique sources as possible for their favorite charity at which time 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive 10, 000, 5,000 and 2,500 dollars respectively to add to their pot. Not too shabby!!!

This cause is near and dear to my heart because Jason and I are also athlete ambassadors for Right To Play and have had wonderful support from all off our friends every time we have raised funds for them. So, I encourage you all to DONATE and continue to spread the word about this race and Right To Play. Go get em Emily!!!!

Gotham Magazine Photo Shoot with Amber Rose

December 9, 2009

We had the wonderful opportunity to do a photo shoot with model Amber Rose for Gotham Magazine for their March, 2010 issue.   You’ll have to wait a few months to check out the pictures, but we were very excited by the outtakes we saw.

Amber was a total sweat-heart and photographer Chiun-Kai Shih and his team were amazing professionals.   We’ve got some other fun stuff in the works, but I’ve recently upped my training regiment and am wiped out so that’s all for tonight!

Onwards and upwards!

Olympic Fencer Tim Morehouse Takes to the Tennis Court To Support Bode Miller’s Charity Turtle Ridge and Harlem Youth Tennis with Gossip Girl’s Sebastian Stan and Justin Gimelstob at the Hublot Fusion Event

December 8, 2009

Yes, I am wearing fencing shoes and high socks! Had to keep it real for FENCING! My game is a deadly combo of fencing footwork and a baseball style swing! lol

(12/7/09) At the Sutton East Tennis Club today I took to the court to play in a celebrity tennis match to support 4-time world champion Skier Bode Miller’s charity endeavor Turtle Ridgewood which was donating $10,000 dollars to the Harlem Youth Tennis and Education program.

I have to admit I was a little nervous since I hadn’t picked up a racquet in a long time, but luckily I had a good teammate in 2-time grand slam winner Justin Gimelstob as we squared off in a friendly doubles match with Sebastian Stan and Bode Miller.

And, good news, Justin and I were victorious!

Proving  once and for all that the sword is mightier than the ski!  Well, who knows really? ;)   I think my underhanded serve which clocked in at a wicked 12 MPH on the radar was the deciding factor for sure!

Of interesting note
* The children were given t-shirts that read “I Love Bode Bang”… in honor of the new watch he is launching with luxury watch maker Hublot
* Sebastian showed up without shorts and had to play in his designer jeans, boots and shirt!! (Best dressed tennis player probably to ever take to the court!)
*Having a tennis ball hit at you by a professional and seeing how fast and with how much movement and spin is on the ball was an incredible site to behold! So much respect for those tennis players!
*Bode can really play tennis!  Wow!
