THE FENCING ARMY SCORES A VICTORY: PARALYMPIC FENCING TO BE FEATURED ON WAPT NEWS!

March 14, 2010

Score a victory for the fencing community!

In a local news contest, the fencing community rallied and out-voted a few other sports to have the local Paralympic fencing program be featured for a story!

From WAPT News website:
Over 6,000 votes were cast and it was a close race but in the end 52% of you picked Paralympic Fencing as our next Sporting Spirit feature story. The program is for young athletes with physical and visual disabilities. Tune in to WAPT on Tuesday March 16th at 6 p.m. for the piece that you the viewer hand selected.

Thanks to everyone who voted! Together we cast 3563 votes!  This is a great example of what can be done with a well-networked fencing community!

I look forward to continuing to help build a strong fencing army in the USA! :) and chalking up many more victories for our sport! GO FENCING! (Join me: www.twitter.com/timmorehouse)

Can’t wait to seeing the video when it’s posted online!

Fencing is on the Side of NYC Buses! Promoting TV Show “Top Chef Masters”!

March 14, 2010

The television show “Top Chef Masters” is the newest program to utilize the power of fencing to promote themselves! (Picture courtesy of fencing mega-star Emily Cross)

This ad is currently being displayed on the side of NYC busses.

Besides the big sports in the USA, is there another smaller sport featured more often than fencing in advertisements and on TV?

It seems every week there is something new!
