August 30, 2010
Very excited to announce I just booked an ad for Casio’s G-Shock Watches which will run in Details Magazine. I’m Headed to LA on Wednesday for the shoot in Santa Monica.
The “advertorial” will run in the November issue and I’ll get to plug some of my upcoming projects…like a small little fencing tournament at Hammerstein Ballroom (Fencing Masters NYC!) and talk about how much I love the G-Shock watches…they are dope!

Cool Fencing Picture of the Day: Happy Birthday Marco Tricarico!
August 26, 2010Italian fencer Marco Tricarico has a birthday today!
He has spent the last 4 weeks in NYC doing a (working) vacation. We’ve been fortunate to have him helping us with the Fencing Masters NYC. His energy and work have been invaluable!
He will head back to Italy next week to begin training with the Italian National team as they prepare for worlds. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORK MARCO and HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!

The Team Behind the Fencing Masters NYC! (And a website sneak peak)
August 26, 2010I have to give a huge shout-out to the team of folks working on the Fencing Masters NYC with me! We’ve been hard at work (for 4 months now!) building the behind-the-scenes infrastructure to launch this tournament! (2,000 seat arena and to be televised on Versus)
I seriously can’t wait! WCMG (Jed Weinstein, Sarabeth Janney), an event planning company, that has done boxing events on ESPN amongst other things has been working tirelessly with us fencing folks (Daria Schneider, Jeff Spear, Marco Tricarico) to get this thing rolling!
Also, pictured is Jody Auslund (my business marketing manager) and not pictured is our fabulous graphic designer Tom Figura (http://www.t-o-m-m-y.com)
The below picture has a little sneak peak of the website homepage…COMING SOON SOON SOON!

Area Jedi Offers lightsaber classes for kids…
August 24, 2010Funny story on a guy teaching kids to lightsaber fence!
There are really only two ways to look at a $300, 10-week class that teaches lightsaber skills to your 6-year-old: 1) Why would I pay that much money so my kid can learn to use something that doesn’t exist?; 2) Where do I sign?
“It really at the end of the day is about armed stage combat,” says Erin Steenson, 33, an Oakton actor who will teach the class at Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo this September. Steenson learned swordplay in April 2009 from Bette Cassatt (the “Jedi Master” who has taught many of Adventure’s lightsaber classes), when she first appeared in Cassatt’s touring adaptation of The Three Musketeers.
