Last night I attended the Gotham magazine Annual Gala at Capitale and hosted by Alicia Keys. This past month I was featured in a story titled, “Bright Young Things” along with Amber Rose and my teammate. You can see me above looking my usual pale color as I proudly hold the magazine and the picture.
It was a fun night at this gorgeous space which was formerly a bank and is one of my favorite event spaces in the city. Best part was hanging out with friends, including my old friend Olympic Gold Medalist Sarah Hughes, and friends Sam Hamedeh, Scott Buccheit and Troy Akiyami.

I must also pay homage to the amazing photographer Chiun-Kai Shih who shot the entire spread, and to his amazing team Jamie, Severine and Pich.
Alicia Keys came and said a few words to the crowd which was probably close to a thousand people and there were a bunch of other celeb-type people. Since I’m terrible with who people are this list will be short: Russell Simmons, Julie Henderson and Busta Rhymes.

I was asked by OK Magazine if I had a celebrity crush, struggled to think of someone, was afraid to say someone douchy and end ended up blurting out the first name that came to my mind. Jennifer Aniston. That is all.
It’s amazing to see how many people comment on the things celebrities do!
Even Amber Rose, and this picture in Gotham Magazine, is commented upon all over the internet…which means of course that people also had some things to say about her photo-mates….
Here are my favorite comments so far:
1) “The dude standing looks like a white Tyler Perry”
2) “Each one is truly a VISION! The men are handsomely swathed in classic looks which are absolutely resplendent……Amber Rose, clad in pieces that are a tribute to her personal style, is as beautiful as she is edgy.”
3) “ I agree, he does look like Tyler Perry.”
FYI This is Tyler Perry…hmmm, do you see a resemblance?

Hot off the presses….
Model Amber Rose and a pair of Olympic fencers (yes, that’s me in the cool jacket. lol) in Gotham Magazine. It’s in a collection of pictures called, “Bright Young Things: Then of New Yorls’ up-and-comers model spring fashions at the ever-chic Norwood Club.”
Photographs were done by CHIUN-KAI SHIH. Jamie Grace did the styling! Pich Prun did the Hair! Love their work! (Thanks guys!)
And, of course, beauty provided by Amber! (She’s super sweet and great to work with!)
The magazine has a great mention and it’s the first time I’ve talked about my book in the press…which is coming along! coming along!

We had the wonderful opportunity to do a photo shoot with model Amber Rose for Gotham Magazine for their March, 2010 issue. You’ll have to wait a few months to check out the pictures, but we were very excited by the outtakes we saw.
Amber was a total sweat-heart and photographer Chiun-Kai Shih and his team were amazing professionals. We’ve got some other fun stuff in the works, but I’ve recently upped my training regiment and am wiped out so that’s all for tonight!

Jason Rogers and I had a photo shoot today with the amazing photographer Chiun-Kai Shih. We met him over a year ago and have been dying to work with him and his team.
They were awesome and these pictures are just a taste! (taken with my blackberry off of a computer screen!) The shoot is for Fabric Magazine and next week we are shooting something for Gotham Magazine with a very fun celebrity. (Can’t spill the beans on this yet!)
We’ve got some great projects coming up that we think will really continue to push the sport of fencing into the public eye and hopefully bring home some sponsorships! Thanks for your support! -Tim
