It has been a busy week! From New York City, to Boston, to Venezuela and back again to NYC for the Samsung Four Seasons of Hope Gala at Cipriani Wall Street. I was introduced to the crowd by Regis Philbin, along with my Olympic team pals SarahHughesNY and AngelaRuggiero. The gala,run by Samsung, raised over 1 million dollars for the charities of Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey and Arnold Palmer this year. All of whom run foundations to assist children in need around the country and world.
The highlight of the evening was President Bill Clinton receiving an achievement award and speaking to the crowd about his work in Haiti and how it is the responsibility of everyone to step up and help our world. To close the evening, Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony performed. Mark Anthony did a pretty cool rendition of Hotel California!
Also in attendance were Wendy Williams, Ex-NY Yankee Bernie Williams, Jill Zarin and Zach Taylor. I got to tell Wendy that I love her show, other revelations are that Bernie Williams has a #1 song on the Latin Contemporary Music charts and Matthew McConaughey has a gun for an arm! (Seen when he threw a football across the whole of Cipriani’s massive ballroom!)
