Fencing Banned in Scotland?!?!

Well…sort of.  Scotland has apparently passed a law which bans the selling of blades except from your coach. (this seems really odd).    So they’ve started a petition to try to get this law overturned…here is a bit of info below.

Are you going to sign this petition to help them?

Background (Preamble):

As of 1st June 2010 a new law came into force in Scotland, which now means the sport of fencing is being totally restricted.

Under this new law fencers will NOT be allowed to buy weapon blades at events, they will only be able to buy from their coach who may not be there.

Therefore, as happens quite often if a blade breaks you can not just go buy a new one from the equipment stand at the venue.
