Fencing.Net: Zagunis 3rd in London; Kharlan notches World Cup Victory

The rivalry between Ukraine’s Olga Kharlan and USA’s Mariel Zagunis is doing just fine.  The Ukrainian team anchor notched the victory at the Women’s Sabre World Cup event this weekend in London, England where she defeated Italy’s Gioia Marzocca in the finals.  Mariel Zagunis took 3rd after losing to Marzocca in the semi-finals.

Fun day at the venue today signing autographs and sharing the National Championship trophy at the http://www.fencing.net table at the Georgia Congress Center.    Got to meet and sign autographs for several hundred folks .(All so nice!)  I’ll be there tomorrow again from 1-3pm time frame.

Fencing.Net: Gold for Zagunis in China; Silver for Kelsey in Canada!

Mariel Zagunis (USA, left) won another round in her rivalry with Ukrainian sabre sensation Olga Kharlan by taking the win against Kharlan 15-13 in the gold medal bout of the Tianjin Women’s Sabre Grand Prix event in Tianjin, China. (Read More: www.fencing.net)
Seung Gu Kim (KOR) won the Montreal Men’s Epee World Cup with a 15-11 victory over Seth Kelsey (USA) in the finals.  Kelsey made the finals by earning victories over Benjamin Ungar (USA) 15-10 in the quarter-finals and Jean-Michael Lucenay (FRA) 10-9 in the semi-finals. (READ: www.fencing.net)
