Spent a fantastic morning with the students, teachers and parent’s at the Riverdale Country School Lower School for their “Olympic Day”. It was a bit of a homecoming for me also since I’m a 1996 graduate of the upper-school.
The day was about more than just celebrating the Olympics and having fun (although it certainly was!). It was a vehicle to talk to the students about the values of setting big goals, working hard and as Sandy puts it, “Showing grit” when faced with challenges.
Special thanks to Dori Bruno Hurwitz’ and Sandy Shaller for setting up my visit and making me feel extremely welcomed to be back on-campus! Thanks to everyone especially the teachers! (My favorite people!)
PS Sandy: You are a true role model and hero for your way with the children. Truly inspiring.
